My name is Neeraj Verma, and I am the founder of the FIRE Fund (Firefighter Injury Relief & Emergency Fund), a fundraising initiative dedicated to supporting firefighters and first responders across the nation. I am currently a sophomore at St. John's School in Houston, Texas. I have a passion for helping first responders and strengthening community resilience.

I volunteer with the Southside Place Fire Department in Houston, Texas, under the guidance of Fire Chief Ulises Serrano. Chief Serrano has been a first responder for 29 years and a Fire Chief for 10 years and is on the board for Texas Association of First Responders. My goal is to serve my community as a volunteer fire fighter as I pursue my academic and career goals.

Did you know that many neighborhoods and communities rely entirely on volunteer firefighters? Unlike many other professions, volunteer firefighters often do not receive job related benefits such as health insurance, disability coverage, or emergency financial assistance. I didn't know this either until I began volunteering at my local fire department. Since then, my mission has been to raise funds that can provide relief and support to these dedicated individuals when they need it most.

Through my volunteer work and community outreach, I am committed to building meaningful connections among donors, local businesses, and firefighting teams to ensure that firefighters have access to the resources, training, and support they deserve.

I bring strong communication skills, experience organizing community events and fundraising campaigns, and a collaborative mindset. I am motivated by purpose and believe in honoring the bravery and sacrifice of firefighters by making tangible improvements to their safety, well-being, and financial security.

Outside of fundraising, I continue to volunteer in my community, enjoy outdoor activities, and participate in community preparedness efforts. I am committed to listening, learning, and working alongside firefighters, volunteers, and supporters to make a meaningful and lasting difference.
